Both these images are biased and they both irritate me, the message they give is unfair and unbalanced and proves how we must to be careful to watch out for bias, we should question, but show respect for, the opinion of others. Artists images and the written word of historians tell different stories about what happened in history, they are influenced by their biases, their loyalties and personal experiences. We are all, of course, entitled to our opinions but the question is, is bias a good thing?
It isn't if you only take what you see at face value or if the same ideas and opinions are perpetuated and we never learn.
It can be a good thing as it is very useful, it lets us find out about what people believed or thought about a particular subject.
People like me who want to learn should find evidence from different sources so that we can form a balanced opinion ourselves so we can detect bias and prejudice when we see it.
